The Finnish MS Foundation

Research with people in mind

The Finnish MS Foundation supports scientific research into neurological diseases, such as MS.

To date, no cure has been found for MS. Extensive international research has however taken significant steps to develop medical treatments that will curb the advancement of this disease. Many types of treatment that are now in clinical use are largely the result of development work undertaken in Finland.

The Finnish MS Foundation was founded in 1995. It invests resources in particular in the training of young researchers and in international research cooperation. Public funding of specialist medical research is insufficient. For this reason, financial support given by the business community and other private bodies is essential.
